Records Fall at Season's First Indoor Meet

Records fell as 206 athletes took to the track at Bethel University for the first USATF Minnesota All Ages Track & Field Meet of the season. 

On the women's side Megan Linder tied the Womens 19-29 60 Meter Dash record of 8.03 set in 2015 by Cassandre Sidner. Danielle Simons established a new record in the Womens 35-39 High Jump of 1.30m. Cecilia Jamison smashed the Girls 8 & Under 400 Meter Dash record of 1:24.52 set by Rebecca Scholder in 2011 with her time of 1:16.84. Susan Loyd bested her own Women's 60-64 400 Meter Dash Record she set earlier this year (1:21:06) with her time of 1:21:02.

On the men's side Logan McLaughlin established a new record in the Boys 17-18 1 Mile Race Walk with a time of 7:45.92. Tyrell Barze grabbed two records in the Boys 8 & Under: 60 Meter Dash 9.34 besting Tyler Sickerson's 2014 record of 9.52 and 200 Meter Dash in 31.33 eclipsing Roney Pierce's 1999 time of 34.12. Ashton Schwartzman bettered Jonathan Webb's Boys 15-16 200 Meter Dash record of 23.62 (2014) by running 23.56. Gary Patton set a new Men's 70-74 800 meter record with his 2:40.15. The old record was 2:45.20 by Jay Sponseller set in 1991.

USATF Minnesota All Ages Indoor Track & Field Meet #2 will be at the University of St. Thomas on January 6, 2019. Meet begins at begins at 10:00 AM. Meet information can be found HERE.
